Friday Puzzles #176
I'm massively hungover, and I should really be going through the WSC/WPC booklets. I'm really looking forward to seeing lots of good friends in Croatia next week. With any luck I'll put together some live blogging whilst I'm there too. For now, here's a not hugely inspired heyawake puzzle. Enjoy!

Hey, symmetric givens aren't as easy to do in a Heyawake. Oh! Maybe you can make them match?
ReplyDeleteNot really.I think you can just place the givens first,then draw rooms accordingly.Quite doable i think.But this is perhaps unprecedented,so congrats for being the first to think about it.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm certainly not the first to do things with symmetry like this. The puzzle I did a couple of weeks ago was a much better effort - although this puzzle provides a counter example to the suggestion that the unshaded area has to be simply connected. Not that I'm sure I really believed that had to be the case!
