No big theme (unless that 44 counts), but lots of interesting deductions along the way. Satisfying and interesting without forcing the solver to do a lot of annoying counting or the like.
No, I wasn't really going for a theme, I was toying around with having lots of different parts of the grid interacting with each other without necessarily having large chunks already filled in. The long clues provide a nice focus whilst constructing different areas of the puzzle. Anyway, a slightly new style of kakuro for me, normally the puzzles are quite linear, but that can often make them a little tricky, especially as the size of the grid goes up!
